Working together to help communities protect against COVID.
The Chicagoland Vaccine Partnership (CVP) was a bold, time-limited initiative that demonstrated the power of collaborative investment to drive seismic change. Launched in 2021 as a real-time response to the release of the COVID-19 vaccine, CVP brought together more than 160 partners to ensure equitable vaccine access across Chicago. Though the project has since concluded, it stands as a powerful example of how strategic, equity-focused investments can strengthen the public health infrastructure and inspire long-term change beyond the immediate crisis.

CENTERING COMMUNITY
Everyone deserves to access vaccines and the critical health protections they provide. CVP amplified community-led, culturally responsive strategies for vaccine distribution, aligning with Michael Reese’s commitment to advancing health equity in Chicago.
Priorities
The CVP aims to advance 5 primary priorities:
Mobilize
trusted messengers in communities hit hardest by COVID-19.
Engage
community members in building a vaccine communication and education campaign
Coordinate
logistics and access to the vaccine across institutions and align messaging efforts.
Design
a long-term model for community-led development of a sustainable public health workforce.
Create
mechanisms to share learnings and insights, bringing visibility and transparency to what we find and learn.
